General Information
Within the framework of its activities, the Hellenic Committee for Geomorphology and Environment of the Geological Society of Greece in collaboration with:
the Faculty of Geology and Geoenvironment -National and Kapodistrian University of Athens,
the Department of Geography-GHES - University of Paris,
the Department of Science and Technology - University of Naples Parthenope,
the Department of Earth and Geoenvironmental sciences - University of Bari Aldo Moro,
the Institute for Earth Observation -Eurac Research and
the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies -University of Haifa,
is organizing an one day workshop on “Women in Geomorphology: a Mediterranean perspective”. The event will take place online on March 8, 2021 at 9 am UTC
Among the main goals of the workshop are:
to present and discuss the results of the research in all topics of geomorphology activating young geomorphologists and encourage the cooperation among them.
The invited speakers of this workshop will cover a wide range of topics in geomorphology: coastal and submarine geomorphology, fluvial geomorphology, karst geomorphology, tectonic geomorphology - morphotectonics, glacial geomorphology, applied geomorphology, new techniques and methods for geomorphological mapping, geoarchaeology, palaeogeography and paleoenvironmental reconstruction, Quaternary geology and natural hazards and disasters.
Geoscientists (members of the scientific community, academics and researchers, public administration and local government officials, etc.), active in any of the topics of geomorphology are welcome to join the Workshop. The main aims of this scientific event is to honor women geomorphologists in the Mediterranean and give them the opportunity to present their research results and establish a discussion and collaboration among them.
The scientific program of the Workshop includes online oral presentations and will be announced soon.
